November 9-10, 2019
This specialized retreat explores the deep connection between a teacher’s well-being and the resulting emotional climate of a classroom. Using a variety of experiential contemplative and mindfulness-based practices teachers will explore their role as an educator, how they relate to that role, and how it affects the experience of their students. Participants will also learn a variety of simple exercises and tools that can be applied in the classroom to keep the emotional climate calm, the learning experience engaged & creative, and assist the students in learning the curriculum.
This retreat is intended for teachers, educators, and/or anyone working directly in relationship with the learning process from all systems and grade levels. There will be opportunities to explore your own experience as a teacher but also learn techniques and strategies you can use with your students.
The retreat is held over a 2-day period. Participants are welcome to attend one or both days with a light lunch provided.
