Pura Vida Is a Light-Hearted Community
We have a lot of fun at Pura Vida Soul Institute and love seeing new friendships form during and after classes! To keep things simple we’d like to communicate some of the “unspoken” rules about how we keep things running smoothly.
Sign-up for class.
We love having a studio out in the woods, but it’s not fun to drive out here and miss out on class. By signing-up for a class you let us know you’re coming so we can make sure there is space for everyone and get a hold of you in the event of an emergency cancellation.
Arrive on time.
Doors to the class will be closed promptly at the start of each class. We understand that sometimes life is crazy and it’s difficult to arrive on time. If you know you may be a few minutes late please send us an email to let us know. When you do arrive be respectful and enter the classroom as quietly as possible.
If you are going to be more than 5 minutes late please reschedule for another class as it is important that you participate in the warm-up to have a safe yoga experience.
Jackets, bags, cell phones in the studio.
Cell phones should remain in your bags during class. No phones are permitted in the studio. Jackets, bags, and other personal items should remain in the cubbies provided in the change rooms. Our instructors have view of this area during class so you can rest assured they are secure.
Please keep studio doors closed.
Heating a hot studio can be quite an endeavour! Each time the door opens we lose a little of that heat, so please make an effort to keep the doors closed.
Honour the quiet in the classroom.
Please respect the quiet solitude of our studio and keep conversations to a minimum volume at the beginning and end of each class. However, please feel free to enjoy some laughs and conversations in the lounge!
Stick it out.
For some of us sitting still can be quite the challenge, but honor that as part of your journey and respect the peace that others are seeking. When you leave early or begin gathering your things it is disruptive to other students. Try to move to a different position or lie down. Inform the teacher prior to class if you need to leave early and leave before to savasana begins.
The entrance to Pura Vida Soul Institute is a rural road. Please be careful when entering and leaving our space to avoid any accidents. Remember…it doesn’t make much sense to rush to relax!
Clean Your Mats
If you borrow one of our mats, we ask that you please spray them down after class using the spray provided and let them remain in the classroom to dry out.
