Pura Vida Soul Institute invites students of all levels and experiences to join our classes. Our teachers will offer different suggestions and modifications throughout classes to make the class more relaxed or more challenging, depending on what you are looking for that day. We are a very light-hearted community and practice yoga for the health and wellness benefits, and as opportunity to have some fun with friends. So if you are recovering from an illness or injury, feeling exhausted from being overworked, or feeling excited and ready to move you are always welcome.
Most of our regularly scheduled classes run from 30-60 minutes in length. Please refer to the descriptions below for more details. You will find each of our class descriptions includes detailed of the class, the room it is held in, and the level of difficulty.
- Hot: The room is heated to 95F (35C) degrees using radiant heat panels
- Warm: The room is heated to 88F (28C) degrees using radiant heat panels
- Unheated: The room is traditional room temperature at approx 70F
- Outdoors: Held in our outdoor, screened-in pavilion in the woods
We identify the intensity and level of difficulty of our classes on the following scale:
* Class is mostly spent laying down or sitting
** Some physical movement is required, but this is a gentle class.
*** Expect to stand, kneel, strengthen, stretch, and start to break a sweat.
**** Increased challenges and faster movements.
***** Plan to be hot and sweaty afterwards! Don’t forget a towel!
Hot Hatha Yoga
Experience a strengthening and lengthening hatha yoga class that is slow paced but still leaves you feeling like you’ve worked hard. This class gives you more time to get into poses and allows you to explore each pose a little longer than a flow class.
